FIRE SAFETY QUALIFICATIONS

Fire Safety training for staff is a legal requirement in the UK under theRegulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 (FSO). We help you meet your legal obligation with a range of quality Fire Safety training and consultancy services available nationally.

The Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 (FSO) came into force on 1st October 2006, and replaced over 70 separate pieces of fire safety legislation. Under the FSO a "responsible person" (usually the owner, employer or occupier of business or industrial premises) must cary out a fire risk assessment and you must ensure that your employees are provided with adequate Fire Safety training. Responsible persons under the Order are required, following a risk assessment, to implement appropriate fire safety measures to minimise the risk to life from fire; and to keep the assessment up to date.

All our Fire Safety trainers are fully qualified and are all ex-Firefighters with many years of experience in the Fire Service.

All Fire Safety training courses meet exacting standards and our Level 1 & Level 2 courses are approved by Highfields Awarding Body for compliance (HABC) to ensure quality assurance. Each course can easily be tailored to suit our client's needs and can be carried out at a time to suit the client ensuring the minimum disruption to their business.

If you don't have anyone with experience to carry out your Fire Risk assessments for your business, then we can help by offering advice or we could carry out the risk assessment for you and ensure that you are fully legal compliant.

Level 1 Award in Fire Awareness

The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is a qualification aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any workplace, where a basic understanding of Fire Safety is required under The Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 (FSO).

Candidates gaining this qualification will know that safety is the reponsibility of everyone in the workplace will recognition of the contribution they may have to prevent the starting and spread of fires in the workplace.

The Level 2 Award in Managing Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at anyone involved in the management of Fire Safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

Candidates gaining this qualification will know that Fire Safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.

A lack of confidence, knowledge and experience can lead to a fire extinguisher being used incorrectly, which can be dangerous.

It is important that businesses ensure that their employees are able to use an extinguisher safely and effectively in the event of a fire.

Note: This course is subject to a minimum number of 5 candidates.

Candidates gaining this qualification will know that Fire Safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.

This course also offers candidates hands on experience of using a fire extinguisher in a practical environment, as well as an understanding of the different types of extinguishers available and their methods of operation - capabilities and limitations.
