Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

We are pleased to offer the HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid as an accredited qualification.

Where an employer's assessment for First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement for an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements.

This Emergency First Aid training course is not just an attend course, candidates are required to take part in practical assessements to successfully complete the course which will be assessed by the tutor throughout the course.

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for individuals who wish to gain knowledge of emergency procedures and attain a recognized qualification in First Aid.

 

Course Content:

  • Responsibilities & reporting
  • Dealing with an unconscious casualty
  • Heart Attacks
  • Fractures
  • Choking
  • Burns
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Resuscitation
  • Control of bleeding
  • Shock

In addition to the core subjects as listed above if required, an additional hour is available to cover specific areas that are appropriate to your organization.

 

Duration:

A 6 hour course consisating of theory and practical work. A maximum of 12 candidates can be accommodated on the course.

 

Qualification:

Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course. The qualification is valid for 3 years.

It is also strongly recommended by the HSE that candidates attend a 3 hour up-date session each year.
