Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) (Initial) (QCF)

This accredited qualification is ideal fro those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

If the assessment of your First Aid requirements highlights the need for qualified First Aiders, then this course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

This First Aid at Work training course is not just an attend course, candidates are required to take part in practical assessements, theorectical work and also home studies to successfully complete the course which will be assessed at the end by an experienced independant assessor.

The recommended course duration is 3 days and topics covered include the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injuries and anaphylaxis.

Qualification Details: The HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF)

It is supported by the Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for Health.

Duration: 3 Days

Assessment Method: This qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

All successful students will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification.

If you oranganisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, this can be accommodated by providing additional training in that particular subject.

A course book will be provided.

 

Duration:

A minimum of 18 hours spead over at least 3 days. Ideally the course should be run over 3 consecutive days, but the Academy has the flexibility to accommodate your special needs if required. The 2 day re-qualification course is also available.

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on the course.

 

Qualification:

The Academy's comprehensive 3-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations.

The qualification is valid for 3 years, after which candidates must attend a re-qualification course prior to the expiry of their current certificate.

It is also strongly recommended by the HSE that candidates attend a 3 hour up-date session each year.
